The Regatta went off without a
hitch! No races on Saturday. The J24's were ready to go in winds of 25-30!
But, we all waited to be courteous of the fellow smaller boats that could not
handle the winds.
Saturday amounted to a lot of beer drinking and
good conversation. My crew (Elizabeth, Chip, and I) did get an opportunity to
go sail on Saturday. What a ride, threw up the 100% and did a couple of tacks
and surfed some waves down wind! Finished the day off with dinner.
Sunday we decided to start the race an hour earlier to
try to knock off a few races. We managed to get 3 challenging races off.
Winds were very challenging! Everyone was very competitive and tried very hard!
I would like to thank all who made the regatta
personally, boat owners and crew!
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Easter!
REMINDER: We are planning to hold the J24 District 8 Champs and World
Qualifier at LNYC this November. We'll see you there.
Thanks,
Clay Cleeland
