From the 2011 D8 NOS: |
|

|
|
|
|
SCORING: Each competitor’s Series score will be the sum of their overall
finishing positions |
|
in each of the (4) regattas excluding their worst score, which allows
for (1) drop/throw out. |
|
Individual regatta results and updated overall Series results will be
published after each D8 event. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
For the purposes of scoring the Series, points will be awarded to each
helmsman as identified by registration. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The District Championship Series will be scored using the low point
scoring method. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
For any Series event in which a competitor does not participate, the
competitor will be scored DNC |
|
and will be awarded a score equal to the total number of boats
participating in the entire Series plus (1) place, |
|
in accordance with RRS A4.2 and RRS A9. For example, if a total of (15)
different boats compete |
|
in the entire Series, a score of (16) will be awarded for any individual
regatta that a competitor does |
|
not compete. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
SERIES TIES will be resolved by using the RRS A8 Series Ties rule as
modified: |
|
|
|
A8.1 If there is a Series score tie between two or more boats, each
boat’s individual Series regatta finishing places |
|
(not individual regatta races) shall be listed in order of best to
worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference |
|
the tie shall be broken in favor of the boat(s) with the best score(s). |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
A8.2 If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be
ranked in order of their scores in the last Series regatta. |
|
Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in
the next-to-last individual series regatta and so |
|
on until all ties are broken. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
